Safe, Reliable Plumbing for Aged Care Facilities

Cornerstone has delivered hydraulic services across a range of aged care facilities throughout South East Queensland, including key projects at St Vincent’s Care in Toowoomba and Forest Lake Lodge. These works span facility upgrades, amenities refurbishments, and ongoing maintenance services, reflecting a strong understanding of the operational, safety, and compliance requirements within aged care environments.

The Cornerstone team has been engaged to complete upgrades to ward amenities and back-of-house facilities, delivering tailored hydraulic solutions that prioritise safety, hygiene, and ease of use. In these environments, safety is critical—not only in system performance, but in ensuring all services support the wellbeing and comfort of residents. This includes carefully designed water systems that minimise risk, maintain consistent temperatures, and allow for safe, reliable daily use.

A key focus across these projects is the delivery of compliant systems that support resident wellbeing. This includes the installation and commissioning of thermostatic mixing valves to control water temperatures, as well as backflow prevention systems to protect water quality. All services are installed in accordance with strict regulatory standards, ensuring both safety and long-term reliability.

Drainage works often involve the modification and relocation of existing systems to suit new layouts, including under-slab drainage adjustments, new connections, and the installation of floor wastes and tundish points. These works are carried out with careful planning and coordination to minimise disruption within live care environments.

Fit-off works are completed with a strong focus on accessibility, safety, and usability. This includes the installation of ambulant toilet suites, wall-hung basins, grab rails, and specialised tapware designed to support mobility and independence. Fixtures are selected and supplied to meet the specific needs of aged care environments, combining durability with a considered, high-quality finish tailored to resident support requirements.

In addition to project works, Cornerstone provides ongoing maintenance services across aged care facilities, including backflow testing, thermostatic mixing valve testing and commissioning, general repairs, and reactive works such as clearing blocked drains. This ongoing involvement ensures systems continue to operate safely, efficiently, and in full compliance over time.

Delivered within live environments, all works are carried out with a high level of care, coordination, and professionalism. These projects demonstrate Cornerstone’s ability to deliver safe, compliant, and reliable hydraulic solutions within sensitive and highly regulated settings.
